Leona "Lee" Kathryn Kenneally

SUSSEX BOROUGH - Leona "Lee" Kathryn Kenneally, 90, of Sussex, formerly of North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Newton Medical Center in Newton.

Born West New York, N.J., Leona worked as a secretary for Spencer Kelloggs in Edgewater from 1943-1948, when she married her late husband, Charles Francis Kenneally. Leona was a former Girl Scout, a member of the Horizon Village Choir in North Fort Myers, Fla., and a member of the 84th Infantry Division Rail-Splitters Wives of World War II.

Leona is survived by her devoted children, Karen Abedini and her husband, Icmet, of Lakeview, Minn., Janice Smith and her husband, Donald, of Naugatuck, Conn., and Dale Di Pietro and her husband, David, of Vernon; and beloved grandchildren, Denim Abedini, of Hermitage, Tenn., Adrianna Abedini, of Waconia, Minn., Christopher Di Pietro, of Vernon, and Kathryn Di Pietro, of Vernon.

Private memorial services will be held under the direction of Goble Funeral Home, Sparta.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, 95 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ 07457.
