Lucia Corey Crouch

FRANKFORD -- Lucia Corey Crouch, 79, of Frankford, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at The Homestead Rehabilitation Center in Frankford.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Lucia married and moved to the Culver Lake section of Frankford in 1956. She was a licensed certified drug and alcohol counselor at Sunrise House in Lafayette for 27 years. She was also a recreational counselor and therapist at Sunrise House and was very involved in the 12-Step Program. A member of Unity Church in Lafayette, Lucia was also a member of the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, N.Y. She was very active in the Homestead recreation department, planting flowers and decorating for the holidays. When funeral arrangements were donated to the Homestead, Lucia made smaller centerpieces for the dining tables. She enjoyed oil painting, photography, parasailing and jet skiing.

The daughter of the late Alvan A. and Doris (nee Thompson) Corey, Lucia is survived by three sons, Joseph Crouch and wife, Suzanne, of Frankford, George Crouch of Newton, and William D. Crouch and wife, Colleen, of Frankford; four grandchildren; one step-grandson; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Corey Cronin, of Virginia; and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Unity Church, 25 Mudcut Road, Lafayette.
