Margaret Fravel

OLD LYME, Conn. -- Margaret Fravel, 93, passed away at Bride Brook Health & Rehab Thursday, June 19, 2014.

Born in Salzburg, Austria, on Jan. 25, 1921, Margaret was the daughter of Peter and Teresa Poschl. She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Fravel.

Margaret was a telephone operator in Salzburg, where she met her husband while serving as a communications expert. Margaret moved to the United States when she and her husband were married in 1947. Margaret took great pride in learning the English language and mastered it to perfection. She dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She loved cooking, reading novels and crocheting in her free time. Her favorite music was that of Andre Rieu, a magnificent violinist.

Margaret is survived by her son, Lee Fravel, his wife, Anita, and their son, Evan, of Old Lyme, Conn.; daughter, Teresa Le, her husband, Bich, and their son, Khang, of Hamburg; and her brother, Hans Poschl, his wife, Cili, and their sons, Hans and Edi.

A memorial service and tribute to her life is planned for late summer.
