HARDYSTON - Marian Palffy, 90, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville.
Born in Passaic to the late Albert and Minnie (Hoffman) Seel, Mrs. Palffy had lived in Newfoundland until moving to Sussex County in 1999. She was very family oriented, enjoyed playing the piano and volunteered at various nursing homes, where she shared her love and talent with everyone.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Palffy Sr., in 2001; her son, John Palffy Jr,. in 2011; her grandson, Jack Baliotis, in 1990; her son-in-law, Tony Baliotis, in 2008; and her two sisters, Evelyn Svozil and Marge Ziegler.
Mrs. Palffy is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara Peters and her husband, Mike, of Sussex, and Ellen Baliotis and her fiancé, Bill, of Cedar Grove; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may pay their respects to the family from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Funeral services will be held directly after the visitation at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with a repast following immediately after the service at Mt. Haven Restaurant in Milford, Pa.
