Marilyn L. Munn

SPARTA - Marilyn L. Munn, 81, peacefully passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Passaic to the late Edwin Vennard and Margaret Holster Vennard, Mrs. Munn lived in Clifton and Pompton Lakes before moving to Sussex County in 1967. She recently moved to Sparta within the past two years.

Mrs. Munn had been employed as a bookkeeper for 15 years at the former Morley's Shirt Company in Franklin, retiring when she was 64. She worked at the Voter Registry in Vernon and retired recently.

Mrs. Munn was a member of Holy Counselor Lutheran Church in Vernon and was active in preparing the church's newsletter. She also was a member of the Vernon Senior Group, the Red Hat Society, High Point Garden Club, the National Park Conservation Association, and volunteered at the Harvest House in Sussex. Mrs. Munn enjoyed line dancing and even performed at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show.

Mrs. Munn was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, in 1993. She is survived by her three sons, Bruce Munn, of New Woodstock, N.Y., Craig Munn, of Lakeville, Pa., and Douglas Munn, of Vernon; her daughter, Gail Porcelli, of Dumfries, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will held Friday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Clove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home.
