Michael Joseph Wargacki

WANTAGE â€" Michael Joseph Wargacki, 65, of Wantage, died after a long illness at home on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. Born to Stephen and Louise Wargacki in Passaic, he had lived in North Haledon and Wanaque before moving to the Lake Neepaulin section of Wantage in 1985.

Mr. Wargacki served with the United States Army during Vietnam and then worked as a construction foreman for Heavy and Generals Union Local 472 in Newark for 42 years before retiring in 2005. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener and loved animals.

Mr. Wargacki is the beloved husband for 42 years of Elizabeth Wargacki (Gander), of Wantage; devoted father of Elizabeth Slate, of Vernon, Michael J. Wargacki Jr., of Lake Hopatcong, Cheryl Johnson, of Hamilton, and Stephen Wargacki, of Somerset; and cherished by six grandchildren.

The family will receive their friends for memorial visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin.
