Paul E. Frey

NEWTON â€" Paul E. Frey, 85, of Fredon, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at the Harris Health Care Center at Bristol Glen in Newton.

Born in Easton, Pa., Mr. Frey moved to Sussex County at the age of 7 and was a longtime Fredon resident. He was a United States Army veteran. A foreman at Limestone Products in Sparta, Mr. Frey retired after 40 years of service. He enjoyed baseball and wrestling and was the founder of the Stillwater-Fredon wrestling program. A member of the Republican Committee of Sussex County, Mr. Frey served as mayor of Fredon Township in 1968, 1971 and 1972.

The son of the late Quintus and Gladys (Seifert) Frey, Mr. Frey also was predeceased by his brother, Jack Frey. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; three children, Keith Frey and wife, Michelle, of Evansville, Wis., Kim Frey, of Ashton, Md., and Eric Frey and wife, Meg, of San Clemente, Calif.; his sister, Joan Frey Dunker, of Cape Carteret, N.C.; two brothers, Don and Doug Frey, of Chrystal Lake, Pa.; and seven grandchildren, Lucas, Tess, Alyssa, Erica, Alec, Quinn and Christian.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Stillwater Presbyterian Church, 901 Main St., Stillwater.
