Roberta A. Bonker

NEWTON -- Roberta A. Bonker, of Bristol Glen, died peacefully Friday evening April 23rd at her home. She was 93.

Born in Hardwick, she had resided in Newton for many years.

Daughter of the late Peter and Grace (Tillman) Bonker, Roberta was a dedicated public school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Retired Educators Association of N.J., a lifetime member of the NEA and the Somerset and Sussex County Chapters 44 of the AARP.

A long time member of the Newton WomenÕs Club, Ms. Bonker was also a member of the Sussex County Bird Club. She was also a longtime and devout member of the First United Methodist Church of Newton and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Rt. 206), Newton. Interment will follow in the Stillwater Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 111 Ryerson Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.
