William Henry Gaal

STILLWATER â€" William Henry Gaal, 71, of Stillwater, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013, in Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida.

Born in Newton, Mr. Gaal was a lifelong resident of Stillwater. He was instrumental in forming the Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company, where he was a past Chief and life member. A member of the Stillwater Presbyterian Church, Mr. Gaal was a member of the Stillwater Cemetery Association, and he served on the Stillwater Township Environmental Commission. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and will always be remembered for his story telling.

The son of the late Marian and Frank Gaal, Mr. Gaal is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret (Lewis) Gaal; his son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Rachel, of Bushkill, Pa.; and his daughter, Jodie Favorite, and her husband, Kenneth, of Bangor, Pa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin and Kirsten Gaal and Jonathan and Mikal Favorite; step-grandchildren, Karl and Michael Welten and Bret and Louis Favorite; and great-grandson, Kaleeve Holmes.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
