MATAMORAS, Pa. - Ambrose "Frank" Bannon, 82, of Matamoras, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Milford Senior Care, Milford, Pa. He was born June 25, 1931, in Carbondale, Pa., the son of the late Ambrose and Miriam Ryan Bannon.

Frank was a retired laboratory technician, for Schering Plough in Lafayette, N.J. He was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, in Matamoras, Pa., a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 471, Port Jervis and a member of the Fourth Degree, Msgr. Sexton Assembly 760, Port Jervis. He also was a member of the V.F.W Post in Honesdale, Pa., a member of the American Legion in Branchville, N.J., and a member of the Westfall Fire Department, Westfall Township, Pa.

Frank married Doris J. West Bannon, who survives at home. He also is survived by his daughter, Dona MacDonald, of Matamoras; his three sons, Dennis J. Bannon of Honesdale, Pa., Daniel Bannon of Branchville, N.J., David Bannon and his wife, Laurie, of Andover, N.J.; his brother, Edward Bannon of Carbondale, Pa.; his sister, Rosemary McCann of Hackettstown, N.J.; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. The vigil wake service will take place at 2 p.m. Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, Pa. The Rev. James Walsh will be the celebrant. Arrangements are by Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home Inc., 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y.
