VERNON - Andrea M. Monahan, 51, died after a brief illness on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Pequannock, she was the daughter of Elmer Gall and the late Shelia (Lebermann) Gall. She had been a resident of Vernon since 1990 and prior to that had resided in Kinnelon. For more than 30 years Andrea worked in the graphic design industry as a graphic artist and had most recently worked for Earl Advertising in Sparta. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, art, drawing, music and the times she would spend swimming at the pool and swimming at Highland Lakes beach No. 1. She was a member of Holy Counselor Lutheran Church in Vernon. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Monahan, of Vernon; daughter, Olivia Monahan, at home; her father, Elmer Gall, of Kinnelon; brother, Stephen Gall and his wife, Michele, of Oak Ridge; sister, Pamela Hall, of Hinesville, Ga.; and several loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Holy Counselor Lutheran Church, 68 Sand Hill Road, Sussex, meeting directly at the church. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Vernon. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon (for GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court, Vernon).
