HACKETTSTOWN - Arthur W. Ball, 93, formerly of Little Falls, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Hackettstown Community Hospital. Born in Springfield, Mass., he had lived most of his life in Little Falls and had also lived in Vernon, Lincoln Park and Newton.

Son of the late Arthur E. and Margaret (Livingstone) Ball, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Later in life, Arthur graduated from Bloomfield College receiving his degree in accounting. Mr. Ball had worked many years with his family business, the former Little Falls Herald and had also worked many years as a bookkeeper and accountant until his retirement in 1991. A former member of the Lincoln Park American Legion, he also was a regular supporter of many charities. An avid reader and computer buff, Arthur also enjoyed working on his family genealogy.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Rose A. Ball, in 1991 as well as a granddaughter, Erica Ball. Arthur is survived by his sons, David A. Ball of Budd Lake, and George A. Ball of Irvine, Calif. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michael Ball and Sonya Brown as well as his sister, Ruth Greenberg, of Belle Meade.

Visitation will be held at Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Rt. 206), Newton Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m., immediately followed by funeral services. Online condolences may be offered through
