QUARRYVILLE, Pa. - Catherine V. Dalrymple (Katie), 86, of Quarryville, Pa., formerly of Andover, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community in Quarryville. Born in Andover, Katie was a graduate of Newton High School and earned a degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn. In 1947, she was recognized by Who's Who in American Universities. While a homemaker, she was active in community affairs. As her children grew older, she worked as a substitute teacher, school bus driver and borough court clerk in Andover. Katie was known for her pretty smile and engaging personality. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. The daughter of the late Russell and Luella Van Syckle, Katie also was predeceased by her sisters, Marilyn Mitchell and Frances Bischoff. Katie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Malcolm "Mac" P. Dalrymple. She also is survived by her four sons, James Dalrymple, of Marathon, Fla., Douglas Dalrymple, of Peach Bottom, Pa., Thomas Dalrymple, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Richard Dalrymple, of Huntingtown, Md.; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Andover United Methodist Church, 207 Andover Sparta Road in Andover on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Andover United Methodist Church, PO Box 368, Andover, NJ 07821; or the
