NEWTON - Charles William Kurtz III "Bill", 73, of Newton, passed away Jan. 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. A service and burial will be held Thursday at Brigadier General Wm. Doyle Cemetery in Arneytown. Family and friends are invited to Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29. Born and raised in Confluence, Pa., Bill ultimately settled in Newton. He proudly served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bill was an electrical engineer at Reinauer Transportation Co. in Staten Island, retiring in 2005. Bill is survived by his four children: Tara Kurtz Troy, Alyssa Hemingway, Christie Predelli and Michael Kurtz; and his three grandchildren: Ryan Klobucher, Taylor Troy and Connor Ivory. He also is survived by his former wives, Sue, Paula and Andrea.
