HARDYSTON - David Michael Perler, 73, died unexpectedly in Franklin on Friday, April 19, 2013.

Born to Walter and Elizabeth Perler in New York City, N.Y., he had lived in Prospect Park, Parsippany and Vernon Township before moving to Hardyston Township in 1991.

Mr. Perler served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and then received his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Seton Hall University. He then worked as a self-employed Certified Public Accountant for the last 50 years. He was an active parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church in Hamburg, and had a passion for New York Mets baseball and New York Giants football memorabilia.

Mr. Perler was predeceased by a brother, John Walter Perler, and was the beloved husband for 45 years of Pamela Perler (Pojednic) of Hardyston Township. Devoted father of Michael Perler of Belle Mead, Brian and Jason Perler of Hardyston Township and Jennifer Perler of Bradenton, Fla. Dear brother of Betty Klien of North Haledon. Brother-in-law of Dorothy Perler-Lange of North Haledon. Cherished by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 21. Funeral from the funeral home will be on Monday, April 22, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church, Hamburg, at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will be private.
