NEWTON -- Dorothy L. Bocchino, 91, of Newton, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 in Newton. Born in Morristown, she grew up there and had lived many years in Bernardsville before moving to Newton in 1982. Daughter of the late Stanley and Mae (Burnett) Ayres, Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and homemaker. She had worked many years for the A&P in both Warrenville and Bernardsville as a cashier and meat department clerk until her retirement in 1982. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Anthony, in 1983, Dorothy is survived by her son, Joseph A. III, of Randolph; her daughters, Carla Patricia Jefferson, of Wantage, and Donna Marie Domaracki, of Newton; her brothers, Arthur Ayres, of Budd Lake, and George Ayres, of Manchester, Tenn.; her sister, Connie Ayres, of Edinburg, Va.; as well as her seven cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to noon with funeral services beginning at noon in the Iliff Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St., Newton.
