HAMBURG - Edward R. O'Dell, 65, of Hamburg, formerly of Bloomfield and Jersey City, passed away peacefully at Newton Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. Born in Jersey City, Edward resided in Hamburg for the last 23 years. He was a retired signalman and clerk for New Jersey Transit for more than 35 years, retiring in 2008. Beloved husband of JoAnn (Marshall). Loving brother of William C. O'Dell, Barbara Elder, Dorothy Ellison and the late John K. O'Dell. Cherished uncle of Jennifer Moran, William C. O'Dell, Alan Elder, Brian O'Dell, Susan Ellison and Amy Ellison. He also is survived by six great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna Mae (Hamilton) and Charles E. O'Dell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at G. Keenen O'Brien Funeral Home, 984 Avenue C, Bayonne. The family will gather Monday morning, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, then proceed to Rosehill Crematory where there will be a chapel service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr.
