NEWTON - Elizabeth "Beth" Palecek, 79, of Newton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012.

Born May 27, 1933, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice and Edward Bolton of East Rockaway, N.Y.

She grew up in Long Island, N.Y., graduating from New York Institute of Fashion. After living in Hillsdale, she moved to Wantage in 1977. She worked as the transportation coordinator for Sussex County until 1980.

Moving to Newton in 2002, Elizabeth was very active at Brookside Terrace Apartments, running the senior lunches every Friday, and planning tricky trays and bake sales.

She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Geraghty, and her husband, Burt, of West Rupert, Vt.; and her brother, Edward Bolton Jr., and his wife, Posie. Also survived by her son, Frank, and his wife, Jaime, of West Windsor; her son, Bob, and his wife, Ennette, of Monroe, N.Y.; her daughter, Linda, of Hopkins, S.C.; her son, Paul, and his wife, Tina, of Eldred, N.Y.; her daughter, Laura Reilly, and her husband, Brian, of Vernon; and grandchildren, Amber Palecek, Candirose Ohmott and her husband, Joe, Danielle and Renee Palecek, Kristine and Traci McManus, Edward Murphy, Jessica Pullam, Heather and Paul Palecek, Nicole Rucks and Brian, Mark, Brianna and Charles Reilly.

Also survived by great-grandchildren, Valerie and Madalyn Palecek, Charlee and Alexis Ohmott, Nevea and James Pullam; her son, Craig Decker, and his wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Janice, and Scott Decker; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Nicholas Decker; and by son, Glenn Decker. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held to celebrate Elizabeth's life at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, Vernon.
