NEWTON - Frances M. Rogers, 92, of Newton, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Barn Hill Care Center. Born in Rochester, N.Y., Frances lived in Binghamton, N.Y., and Honesdale, Pa., prior to moving to Newton in 1956. Mrs. Rogers was a hostess/waitress at the Newtonian Inn in Hampton Township for many years. She was awarded the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow award in 1985. She loved planting flowers, spending time with family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The daughter of the late Frank W. and Helen (Clowe) Kiely Sr., Frances also was predeceased by her son in-law, Paul Virtell; and sisters, Vivian Lane, Betty Gates and Katherine Bosdyke. She is survived by three children, Donna Sipley and husband, Vincent, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Beverly Mason and husband, Richard, of Newton, and Judith Virtell, of Newton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank W. Kiely, of Fredon; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 26 Halsted St., Newton.
