FRANKLIN -- Gordon A. Buckley, 89 years, died peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. Born in Passaic, he was the son of the late William J. and Sarah (Smith) Buckley. He has been a resident of Franklin since 1972 and prior to that had resided in Passaic. Mr. Buckley was a veteran of the United States Army and had proudly served his country during World War II. He was the director of security for Popular Services Co. in Passaic. Prior to being employed with Popular Services he was employed as a police officer for the city of Passaic. He was a member of the Elks Club in Passiac and a member of P.B.A. local #14 in Passaic, where he also served as a delegate. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose Buckley (2011), and his siblings, brothers Thomas, Raymond and William Buckley, and sisters Edna Condron and Olive Buckley. He is survived by his children, a daughter, Joan Pakenham of Chester, N.Y.; a son, William Buckley and his wife, Marilyn, of Stockholm; grandchildren, Thomas Pakenham, Sarah Pakenham, Stacey Pakenham-Don, and Kristin Anne Buckley; along with a great-grandson, Timothy Pakenham. Private services were held at the convenience of the family and were entrusted to the care of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin.
