SANDYSTON - James B. "Jimmy" Mullins, 72, passed away at home on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, after a lengthy illness. He lived his life with joie de vivre and gratitude for the blessings of a long and contented sobriety. Born in New York City, N.Y., to the late Charles and Mary (Carroll) Mullins, Jimmy also was predeceased by his brother, Carroll, Aunt Gertrude and cousin, James Byrnes. He is survived by the family he loved: Margie, his wife of 30 years; his beloved daughter and grandsons, Heather, Jimmy and Aidan; and his treasured dogs, Sweet Lou and Sadie. Jimmy served with pride in the United States Air Force. Stationed in France as a medic, he had the great joy of assisting in the birth of 162 children. He spent the last 14 years in Sussex County, and will be missed by his many friends, especially the Glenwood Young Peoples Group, as well as his buddies from Washington Heights, Highbridge, Wall Street and Deer Lake. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 210 Route 206 N., Sandyston, 973-948-2296.
