VERNON -- Jennifer Rose Brune, 27 years old, died after a long illness at home peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. Born to Christopher and Dorothea Brune in Newton, she haD been a lifelong resident of Glenwood. Jennifer was a graduate of Vernon Township High School and then received her B.A. in English literature from Ramapo College. While in Vernon Township High School she was a member of the French Club and lived in Montreal for a month. She was a member of Girl Scout Troop 709 in Vernon and achieved the Gold Award. She was a parishioner of St. Stephen the First Martyr R.C. Church in Warwick, N.Y., and took great joy in art, drawing and painting, and writing prose and poetry. She was a Rescue Mom of pets, doted on her own pets and was a regular donor to Best Friends. Jennifer was the loving daughter of Christopher and Dorothea of Glenwood. Dear sister of Capt. Rachel Brune-Coombs and her husband, Capt. Robert Coombs, of Fort Bragg, N.C., Christopher J. Brune and his wife, Katherine Matheson, of Port Jervis, N.Y., Dorothea T. Brune of Fayetteville, N.C., Mary E. Brune of Vernon, and Elizabeth Elorza and her husband, David, of Princeton. Cherished aunt of Michael Brune and Anastasia Elorza. The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen the First Martyr R.C.
