So sorry to hear of Mr. Frey's passing. He was a great chef and a great employer. I remember working for him when I was 17 at Feher's and he was always in the kitchen back then... a real, hands on person who knew how to run a business. When I last saw him at the Lafayette House he was still hard at work in the kitchen. RIP and condolences to Debbie and family.

Jack Frey, on my wedding day. Many thanks!!!

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Jack Frey, he was an amazing person and a great mentor who will be dearly missed. I was fortunate to have worked for Jack at both Feher’s Country Inn and the Lafayette House upon my graduating from high school and continued to do so for practically two decades before relocating to Colorado. For employees to remain employed with Jack for such long periods of time is nothing uncommon as he was the most dedicated, personable and generous boss anyone could ask for. He was the type of boss who worked right beside you, he used the words we, us, and our in reference to his business making everyone feel a part of it, as a team, practically his family. He shared with me many important aspects of the restaurant business that helped me to achieve starting up my own business, needless to say he was never forgotten, and will always be someone close to my heart.
