John Garfield Crane Obituary
OGDENSBURG - John Garfield Crane, 62, died unexpectedly at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville, on June 29. Born to Frederick and Helen Crane in Sussex, he had been a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg.
John served with the United States Army National Guard and then worked for Ames Rubber in Hamburg before becoming a custodian for the Hardyston Board of Education for many years. John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping.
John was the beloved husband for 37 years of Irene Crane (Ross), of Ogdensburg; devoted father of Shawn Crane, of Ogdensburg, and Austin Morris; grandfather of Shane, Zoey, Davin and their mother, Amy; cherished by Stephanie, Caitlyn and Blake; dear brother of Beatrice Crane; stepbrother of Leroy Wright and his wife, Mary, of South Carolina, Mary Algabright and her husband, Mike, of Virginia, Billy Wright, of Dover, and Carl Wright, of Arizona; godfather of John and Roy Micke and Nicole Kymer and Vincent Boyer; and loved by all of his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, July 5, at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 6, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Township.
