SPARTA - John M. Quinn went home to the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in Newton. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., as the only child to Daisy and John Quinn. He has resided in Sparta for 42 years, with the past six at Bristol Glen in Newton. John graduated from New York University in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He earned an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1972 graduating Cum Laude. Mr. Quinn was employed for 30 years as a general manager with Allied-Signal Corporation and then as the president and general manager with Jungbunzlauer, formerly Benckiser Inc. John retired in 2001. Predeceasing Mr. Quinn is his grandson, Ryan Quinn. Surviving him is his former spouse of 37 years, Doris S. Quinn, who had been his caregiver for the past 15 years; two sons, Ronald Scott Quinn (Chris) of Sparta and James Kevin Quinn (Peggy) of Fredon; a daughter, Nancy Eileen Lombardi (Michael), of Tallahassee, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Breianne Schwarz (Thomas), Aimee, Amanda, William, Stewart and Savannah Quinn, and Lia and Ali Lombardi; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Schwarz. Friends and family are invited from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. A 10 a.m. chapel funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 9, followed by burial in Sparta Cemetery.
