HARDYSTON â€" June Marie Bever (Martin), 86, passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at home with her family by her side. She was born in West New York to Jay and Sophia (Reith) Martin. June resided in Palisades Park for 60 years prior to moving to Hardyston three years ago. June was employed with both American Tobacco Co. and Dunn and Bradstreet before becoming a devoted homemaker. She studied art and was an avid bird watcher. Mrs. Bever was also a Girl Scout leader. She volunteered at the Palisades Park Library promoting childrenâ€™s literacy, and was a former Board of Directors member of the Parent Teacher Association. June was a loving, caring, compassionate soul who always put everyone else first and whose smile brightened a room. She will be sadly missed. Predeceasing her are her husband, Karl, 1989; a daughter, Susan Bever, 1968; and infant grandson, Timothy Lopatin, 1990. June is survived by a loving daughter with whom she lived, Carol Lopatin, and dear friend Eric Balinski, of Hardyston; a loving son; Karl Bever and Diana of Hopatcong; cherished granddaughter, Ashley Susan Bever of Hopatcong; her caregiver, Sandy Awad; a niece and nephew, many cousins, and her beloved cat, Lindsey. The family wishes to thank friends and staff at Sussex County Adult Day Center and the Compassionate Care Hospice of Sparta for their gentle care and assistance. Family and friends are invited Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with an 8 p.m. funeral service at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta.
