SAN DIEGO - Kirk Baker-Marasco, 21, of San Diego, Calif., passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from non-specific causes.

Born in Morristown, N.J., May 15, 1991, to Lynda Baker and Paul Marasco, Kirk was a student and a talented artist. He resided in San Diego, Calif., since 2010, while attending Grossmont College, where he studied as a music major. Kirk lived in Sparta until he left to attend college, formerly of Succasunna. He was a 2009 graduate of Sparta High School. Kirk had a deep love for music and was very creative. An avid hockey fan, Kirk played ice hockey since he was seven and throughout high school. In California, he also enjoyed playing roller hockey.

While attending college, Kirk was employed at two jobs that he was very thrilled about: the House of Blues and Oakley Sportswear, both in San Diego. Kirk was loved by everyone he met because of his wonderful personality, and he will be truly missed. He is survived by his father; Paul Marasco, of Denville and his companion, Luiza Grunebaum; and his mother, Lynda Baker, of Sparta; two brothers, Andrew Baker-Marasco and Jonathan "Jonny" Baker; an aunt and uncle, Phil and Ann Arenstein, of Nanuet, N.Y.; and aunts, Jennifer Baker Fitzsimons and Ellen Baker.

Family and friends are invited Monday, April 8, from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha R.C. Church, 427 Sparta- Stanhope Road, Sparta, NJ 07871. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 9, at the church followed by burial in Sparta Cemetery.
