HAMBURG - Klaartje deWaal, 102, of Hamburg, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on April 13, 2014. Klaartje was born in Melissant, Netherlands, came to the U.S. in 1954 and settled in Oak Ridge, before moving to Hamburg. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Maarten; daughter, Sietje, and loving husband, Johannes. Klaartje is survived by her devoted children, Johannes deWaal and his wife, Karin, Maude France Summers and her husband, Bill, Case deWaal and his wife, Terry, Jacklyn Stellingwerf and Adriana Owens. She also is survived by her sister, Winnie VanderGroef, and all of her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. There will be a funeral service at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by the interment at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hamburg.
