NEW HOLLAND, Pa. - Leonard Theodore Search, 83, died after a short illness at his home in New Holland, Pa., on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013. |
Born to Leonard T. and Martha Search in Franklin, he was raised in Ogdensburg and then lived in Hardyston before moving to New Holland, Pa., seven years ago.
Mr. Search continued his education after high school and earned his laboratory and X-ray technician certification, serving in that position at Franklin Hospital and Sparta Medical. He also had a long and successful career with Schering-Plough in Lafayette as a plant manager before retiring in 1992.
Mr. Search was an exempt member of the Ogdensburg Fire Department and served on the Ogdensburg Board of Education. He was a parishioner and member of the Holy Name Society of St. Thomas of Aquin R.C. Church, Ogdensburg, as well as being an active member and supporter of S.C.A.R.C. Inc.
Mr. Search was the beloved husband for 60 years of Rose Search (Danis), of New Holland, Pa.; devoted father of Patricia Hutton, of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., Linda Sikora, of Ogdensburg, Timothy Search, of Lancaster, Pa., and John Search, of Kennit Square, Pa.; cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and dear brother of Ronald Search and his wife, Dixie, of Ogdensburg.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. A funeral from the funeral home will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas of Aquin R.C. Church, Ogdensburg, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Ogdensburg.
