FRANKLIN - LeRoy R. Babcock Sr., 68, of Franklin, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center in Andover. Born in Franklin, he was the son of the late Jennie (Crum) Babcock. Mr. Babcock had been a lifelong resident of Franklin. For 25 years he was employed as a machine operator for Accurate Forming Corp. in Hamburg. LeRoy was a caring person who always had time for his family and friends. He enjoyed the times he would spend in the outdoors fishing, hunting and golfing. He loved the time he would spend working on the farm with his family and friends. He also enjoyed watching sports on television. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara May Babcock, a brother, Ernest Babcock, and a sister Patricia Babcock. He is survived by his father, Clarence Babcock; his children, Leroy Babcock Jr., of Franklin, Melissa Babcock, of Franklin, George Babcock, of Sussex, and Patrick Babcock, of Franklin; granddaughters, Victoria and Kelsey; sisters, Betty Henderson, of Franklin, Evelyn Talmadge, of Franklin, June Rider, of Branchville; brothers, Clarence Babcock Jr., of Franklin, Lester Babcock, of Newton, and Earl Babcock, of Sussex; along with many nieces and nephews. Final disposition was held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service celebrating his life will be scheduled in mid-January 2013 at Franklin Fire Department with a date and time to be announced by his family.
