SPARTA - Louis Luzzi, 82, of Sparta, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Sussex County Homestead in Frankford Township. Born in Clifton, Mr. Luzzi lived in Belleville before moving to Sparta. He worked in automobile sales for more than 50 years. A United States Navy veteran, Mr. Luzzi served on the USS Missouri during the Korean Conflict. The son of the late Ralph and Angelina (Alessio) Luzzi, Mr. Luzzi also was predeceased by his sister, Marie Mateyka. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Claire K. Luzzi; his sister, Mildred Failla, of Nutley; his brother, Ralph Luzzi Jr., of Bloomfield; two nephews; and two nieces. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
