BLAIRSTOWN - Louis Ranley, 62, of Blairstown, passed away peacefully at Newton Medical Center on Jan. 20, 2013. Born in Passaic County, he was the beloved son of Louis G. Ranley and Barbara M. Ranley. He was a graduate of Clifton High School and moved up to Warren County in 1979. Later on he worked as a cook at several youth camps in Sussex and Warren Counties and in Blair Academy. In his earlier life Louis was a perfumer with Givaudan in Clifton and he also worked in the same field at International Flavors and Fragrances in New York City. Louis was very innovative and talented when it came to culinary skills, but he will always be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, which left those around him in a constant state of laughter. It was always a great pleasure to be in his company and entertained by his extraordinary meals and then to be treated to a "during and after" dinner comedy show. He also was noted for his beautiful heart, his kindness and his ability to help people. He was a wonderful friend to many, a much loved brother, son and uncle. Many friends referred to him affectionately as "Uncle Lou." He was loved by so many and he touched our lives and enriched them just to have the privilege of being his friend, sisters, brother, uncle, nieces and nephews. He put smiles on so many faces and always left them laughing. He will be incredibly missed but never ever forgotten. Survivors include his brother, Dr. Robert L Ranley; and his sisters, Maree Casatelli and Barbara Austin, who was his twin. Thank you, Louis, for giving us this much time with you on earth; you filled our hearts with love, joy and laughter. Private arrangements are under the direction of Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Route 206) Newton, NJ. Online condolences may be offered through www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com.
