VERNON - Paula Susan (Watson) Byra, 64, died after a short illness at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. Born to Robert and Viola Watson in Passaic, she had lived in Nutley before moving to the Highland Lakes section of Vernon in 1985. Mrs. Byra worked as a security officer for the Highland Lakes Country Club & Community Association for 17 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church in Highland Lakes. She was a doting grandmother and loved pets especially her dog, Mickey. Mrs. Byra was the beloved wife of Joseph N. Byra, of Highland Lakes; devoted mother of Robert Byra and his wife, Amy, of Stockholm, and Joseph N. Byra and his wife, Rory, of Vernon; loving grandmother of Elizabeth Rose, Catherine Margaret and Kaylin Emilee; dear sister of Dennis Watson, of Hewitt, Thomas Watson, of Vernon, Richard Watson, of West Orange, Carol Ann Stack, of West Shokan, N.Y., William Watson, of Point Pleasant and Robert Watson, of the Dominican Republic. The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home Thursday, Jan. 10, at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima R.C.
