NEWTON - Peter F. Hunt III, 57, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Newton Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. The son of Marianne (Vollmer) and Peter Hunt Jr., Pete was born in Fort Lee and lived in the Bronx, N.Y., before moving back to New Jersey. He had resided in Sussex County for the past 25 years. Pete was a professional glazier by trade and last worked for Sasse Glass. He enjoyed woodworking, detailing cars, and spending time feeding his pet koi fish. He also enjoyed the companionship of his two cats, Gizzy and Kalli, who he loved and they loved him. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Pete was predeceased by his mother, Marianne (Vollmer) Hunt. He is survived by his soul mate and the love of his life for 20 years, Dottie Henderson, of Newton; his three children who he loved dearly, daughters Ramona Willis and Kimberly Hunt, of Budd Lake, and son Shannon Moore, of New Jersey; four grandsons; his "adopted" in-laws, Connie Henderson and Bob Connors, of Crandon Lakes, Philis Esteves and nephew Shaun Poyer, of Branchville; his father, Peter Hunt Jr., of Bronx, N.Y.; sister Michelle Hunt, of Bronx, N.Y.; and his cats Gizzy and Kalli. A wake will be held at the United Methodist Church on Mill Street in Branchville on Friday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a service following at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be much appreciated to help with the funeral costs.
