FRANKFORD - Ralph Pittenger, 88, of Frankford Township, died peacefully Sunday, May 4, 2014, at home. Born and raised in Newton, Mr. Pittenger lived in Frankford Township for the past 50 years. Mr. Pittenger was a self-employed carpenter. He loved going hunting and fishing. The son of the late Jessie and Carrie (Utter) Pittenger, Mr. Pittenger also was predeceased by his wife, Daisy (Ayers) Pittenger, on July 5, 2013; and his son, Fred. Mr. Pittenger is survived by his son, Douglas Pittenger, of Frankford Township; brother, Lawrence Pittenger and wife, Peggy, of Blairstown; sister, Betty Holterman, of Newton; and many nieces and nephews. A joint memorial service for Ralph and Daisy Pittenger will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
