CAMDEN, S.C. - Robert F. Meshach, 77, of Camden, S.C., formerly of Blairstown and Hardwick townships, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013. Born in Blairstown, he was a son of the late William E. and Rosie O. (Lance) Meshach.

Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown since 1958, a member of OOIDA, NRA, and several antique tractor pulling clubs. He was a Little League and Babe Ruth Coach and was instrumental in securing the original Little League charter in Blairstown while he was president of the Blairstown Athletic Association and he was an umpire for the National Association of Umpires. In the 1950s-1970s, he raced stock cars at many local tracks. He had driven trucks since 1962 and was a truck owner/operator from 1972-2003.

Mr. Meshach is survived by his loving family: two sons, Joseph R. Meshach of Walterboro, S.C. and Ernest B. Meshach of Elgin, S.C.; five grandchildren, Joshua, Hanna, Abbie, Zeke and Jennifer Meshach; one step-grandchild, Emerson Felton; three sisters, Lena Keyser of Florida, Shirley Carr of Blairstown and Linda Meshach of Columbia; three brothers, Donald, Marvin and Richard Meshach, all of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, the former Ruth G. Blunt (November 2012); a brother, William; and a sister, Hazel Shipps.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 3 to 5 p.m. Interment of ashes will be Saturday, April 27, at 4:30 p.m. in Hainesburg Cemetery, Route 94, Hainesburg.
