ANDOVER TWP. - Roy D. McClain, 58, of Andover Township, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Panama, Roy was a lifelong resident of Andover Township. He was a 1975 graduate of Vo-Tech High School and had been a machinist at Ja-Bar Silicone Corp. in Andover Borough for more than 20 years. An avid hunter and fisherman, Roy was a former coach of the Lackawanna Little League.

The son of the late Cecelia (Washelewski) Lovett, Roy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Catherine Dickerson McClain; three children, Roy C. McClain and wife, Jennifer, of Sandyston Township, Timothy A. McClain of Andover Township, and Karen A. McClain and her fiancé, David, of Port Jervis, N.Y.; three grandsons, Aiden and Landon McClain and Logan Predmore; his father, George Lovett, of Pennsylvania; five brothers, Bruce McClain of Pennsylvania, Robert McClain and wife, Winnie, of Florida, Joseph Lovett of Pennsylvania, John Lovett of Pennsylvania, and George Lovett of Pennsylvania; and three sisters, Deborah Dickerson and husband, Bucky, of Pennsylvania, Cecelia Giamoni of Pennsylvania and Gigi Plummer of Pennsylvania. Roy also is survived by many other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 30, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Private cremation will follow. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
