SUSSEX - Ruth Jeanette Riddick, 85, entered into rest on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Compassionate Care Hospice at Barn Hill Care Center. Born on April 17, 1927, to the late Judkins and Almeda Riddick of New Egypt, she grew up in New Egypt and Edenville, N.Y., and had lived in Warwick, N.Y., before moving to Sussex. Miss Riddick was a long-time employee of Ames Rubber in Hamburg. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Andrew Earl Riddick and Lawrence Riddick. She is survived by her lifelong friend and caregiver, Barbara Miller, of Sussex; her three nieces, Lorie McGrath and her husband, Timothy, of Monticello, N.Y., Sally Ogden, of Mt. Vision, N.Y., and Lorraine Smith, of Yulan, N.Y.; her three nephews, Keith Riddick and his wife, Lola, of Middletown, N.Y., Kenneth Riddick and his wife, Carolyn, of Morganton, N.C., and James Brown of New York State; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family and have been entrusted to Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex.
