FRANKLIN - Timothy Veltri, 90, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Geisenger South Hospice in Wilkes Barre, Pa. Mr. Veltri, son of the late Daniel and Mildred (Staffa) Veltri, was born in Garfield May 15, 1923. He resided in Garfield before moving to Franklin in 1959. Mr. Veltri was a construction worker for Tri-Us Landscaping in Lodi. Mr. Veltri was a U.S. Army World War II veteran having fought in Po Valley, Anzio and Montecassino, Italy, as well as North Africa. Mr. Veltri served with the 338th Infantry, 85th Division, "Custer Division," and was active with its reunion group. He was a life member of the Newton Memorial VFW Post 5360, was a past member of Sgt. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post 132 of Franklin and was a former member of General Judson Kilpatrick Knights of Columbus Council 5563. Mr. Veltri was predeceased by his wife, Johanna (Lanza) Veltri, in 1997; and a daughter, Carol P. Veltri, in 2007. He is survived by his children, John Veltri of Franklin, Kathy Klingener of Stroudsburg, Pa., and Barbara Veltri of Hackettstown; brother, Anthony Veltri of Lodi; 10 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin, to Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Franklin, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.
