DELTONA, Fla. - William G. Bodle, 71, of Deltona, Fla., passed Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, surrounded by his family.  

Born in Ogdensburg Jan. 8, 1943, Bill graduated from Franklin High, then enlisted in the Unites States Navy and served in Vietnam. Bill was a former commander of American Legion Post 86 and volunteer firefighter and paramedic with Sussex Fire Department. Bill relocated to Florida from New Jersey in 1981 and retired from Sprint in 2005. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan Bodle; son, Eren Bodle; daughters, Raigan Ruppert and Kim Roberts; grandson, Jacob Ruppert; son-in-law, Chris Ruppert; sister, Beth Katzenstein, and brother, John Flanagan, both of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.  

Services will be held at a future date in his family church in Ogdensburg.
