NEWTON - William Little, 91, of Newton, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. Born in Sparta, Mr. Little lived in Ogdensburg, then Hampton for three years before moving to Newton in 1956. He was a shovel operator at Limestone Products in Sparta for 36 years before his retirement in 1986. He had previously been a dairy farmer in Ogdensburg and Hampton. Mr. Little was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newton. The son of the late John E. and Edith (Predmore) Little, Mr. Little was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Hammell) Little, on Sept. 2, 2011. He is survived by four sons, Fred Little and wife, Debra, of Lincoln, Neb., Daniel Little and partner, Ricardo Cuevas, of Miami, Fla., Tom Little of Atascosa, Texas, and Jeff Little and wife, Diane, of Newton; one daughter, Linda Markowski and husband, Lee, of Elbert, Colo.; nine grandchildren, James and Rachel Markowski, Eric and Victoria Markowski, Chuck and Rheanna Little, Dana Little, Melissa Little, Matthew and Jackie Little, Kerstin and Matt Martinka, Bethany and Ryan Tressler, and Zac Little; five great-grandchildren, Courtney Hawkins, Morganne Markowski, and his sweet babies, Hannah, Hayden and Harper Little. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
