ANDOVER TWP. - Willis Raylynne Long, 64, of Andover Township, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Born March 3, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pa., he had lived in Andover Township for many years. Son of the late Claudius Wilson and Ethel Mae (Price) Long, Willis was a graduate of the Landreth Elementary School and later the South Philadelphia High School. After high school Willis received his associate degree from Temple University and then earned his bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the University of Dayton. Mr. Long had also achieved his Black Seal Certification, the RPA Certification as well as being a loan executive to the United Way. Willis had worked many years as the manager of construction and maintenance for the Prudential Insurance Co., Newark. Mr. Long was predeceased by his brothers, Timothy and Frederick Daniels. Survivors include his beloved wife of many years, Julia Frances (Burwell) Long; and his children, Kenneth Burwell, Timothy Carr, Curtis Long and Michael Long. Also surviving are his brothers Donald, Claude and Stephan and his wife, Deborah, Long, as well as his seven grandchildren. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday morning, May 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. with memorial services beginning at 10 a.m. at Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Route 206), Newton.
