NEWTON - Evelyn T. Polinik, 91, of Newton, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at home. Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Polinik lived in Ridgefield Park, Martinsburg, W.Va., before moving to Newton in 2006. She was a homemaker. The daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Grimm) Miller, Mrs. Polinik was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Polinik, on April 15, 2005. Evelyn and Frank were together for 63 years and enjoyed 60 years of matrimony. She also was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Sundell and Ruth Zorich. Mrs. Polinik is survived by her daughter, Barbara Moscatello and husband, Philip, of Newton; her grandchildren, Kathryn Moscatello, of Newton, and Kimberley Frattino and husband, Alfonso, of Elmwood Park; and her great-grandchildren, Alfonso and Nicoletta Frattino. She also was survived by her son, Frank Polinik and wife, Rosemary Polinik, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and her grandchildren, Frank Polinik, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Samantha Polinik, of Baltimore, Md., and Adam Polinik, of Martinsburg, W.Va. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the funeral home.
