BARNEGAT - Nancy B. (Luber) Sadlon, 79, of Barnegat, formerly of Hawthorne and Highland Lakes, passed away March 22, 2014, at home. Born in West Chester, Pa., to her late parents, Herbert and Viva Luber, she attended Hawthorne schools and Orange County College in Middletown, N.Y. Before retiring in 1992, Nancy worked for 26 years helping to establish Vernon's first library. Initially, she started her career as branch head for Vernon Township Library and later as a senior civil servant for the Sussex County Library in Vernon. Nancy's family enjoyed vacationing on Barnegat Bay for 18 years, finally moving to Barnegat permanently in 2001. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit and enjoyed working with the Alter Guild. An avid animal lover, Nancy became a supporter of the Popcorn Park Zoo. She loved boating, reading, cruises, Atlantic City, spending time with family and friends and in her youth acquiring her pilot's license. Predeceased by her husband, Stanley, and a daughter, Holly, she is survived by a son, Steven H. Sadlon and wife, Michele, of Wantage; a daughter, Kimberly J. Black and husband, Sean, of Virginia Beach; and three grandsons, Howard Tarpey III, Daniel Tarpey and Jordan Black. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, with services to follow at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Interment will be private at the Newton Mausoleum, Newton.
