FREDON - David Alan Klemm, 61, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at his home in Fredon Township.

Born in Newton, David was a lifelong resident of Sussex County. He was a 1970 graduate of Newton High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y., in 1976. David was a farmer and the owner/operator, along with his son, Bradley, of The Stables at Waterwheel Farm in Fredon Township.

A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, David was vice president of the board at the church and was a 35-year member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church Choir. His professional affiliations included member and past president of the Sussex County Board of Agriculture; committee chair of the Sussex County Farmers Market; and a member of the New Jersey State Board of Agriculture, which was a governor appointment. He also was an active participant in the 4-H Market Animal Sale at the Sussex County Farm & Horse Show. David was a licensed Real Estate agent for Prudential Gross & Jansen Highlands Realty in Branchville and a member of the Yellow Frame Cemetery Board.

David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane Brockman Klemm, of Fredon Township; three children, Brian Klemm, of Raleigh, N.C., Alissa Meyer and husband, Aaron, of Bronxville, N.Y., and Bradley Klemm, of Fredon Township; and two grandchildren, Evan and Elle Meyer. He also is survived by his father and mother, Willard and Jeanette Klemm; one brother, Danny Klemm and wife, Kathy, of Stillwater; and many loved extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37 Newton Sparta Road, Andover Township. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Interment will be private at Yellow Frame Cemetery.
