LAFAYETTE -- Anne B. Schurich, 88, of Lafayette, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Franklin, Mrs. Schurich was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a graduate of Newton High School. An employee at Selective Insurance Co. of America in Branchville, Mrs. Schurich worked in the file room before retiring at the age of 62. She formerly attended Frankford Plains United Methodist Church. The daughter of the late Wallace and Clara (Davison) Baigrie, Mrs. Schurich was also predeceased by her husband, DeForest Schurich, in October 2000; and three sisters, Carol Baigrie, Janet A. Baigrie and Esther Sparling. She is survived by three children, Patricia Fargo and husband, Robert, of Lafayette, Andrew Schurich and wife, Pauline, of Montague, and Frank Schurich and wife, Sallie, of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Erik Fargo and wife, Sharon, Graig Fargo, and Jessica Schurich; and her great-grandchildren, Kevin and Drew Fargo. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Edward Sparling; her step-grandchildren, Kyle Zazzi and wife, Heather, and Nichole DeWall and husband, Troy; her step-great-grandchildren, Kira and Gracie Zazzi and Magnus and Haaken DeWall; her niece; her nephew; and her cousins. Services and interment are private and are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
