SPARTA -- Ernest Francis Mueller, 86, of Sparta, passed away at home on July 31, 2014. Ernest was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Sparta 50 years ago. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II, and worked as an expeditor for Colonial Hardware in New York City for many years. Ernest was an avid Dodgers and Mets fan. He was the greatest father and the best person you would want to meet. He will be dearly missed. Ernest was predeceased by his beloved wife, Agnes, and his loving son Ronald. He is survived by sons Kenneth Mueller and his wife, Joan, of Sparrowbush, N.Y., and Emil of Oak Ridge. He is also survived by his loving granddaughter Connie Bellucci; great granddaughter Clara Beth; several nephews and one niece; sister Arlene Paterno and her husband, Victor. Donations may be made in his memory to the Sparta VFW, 66 Main St., Sparta, NJ or Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860. Services were directed privately by the Goble Funeral Home, Sparta.
