ANDOVER TWP. -- Charles H. Miller Sr., 77, of Andover Township, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center in Andover Township. Born in Orange, Mr. Miller lived in Clifton before moving to Florida, where he lived for seven years. He moved to Sparta, then to LaBelle, Fla., and returned to New Jersey, where he has resided in Andover for the past four years. Mr. Miller was the owner/operator of Carpentry Plus, formerly of Sparta and now in Montague, for 31 years before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking projects, music, trains and cars, especially Fords. The son of the late Charles Miller and Virginia Marie (Van Derf) Miller, Mr. Miller was predeceased by his wife, Karen Wolff, to whom he had been married for 53 years, in December 2009. He is survived by his son, Charles H. Miller Jr., and wife, Linda, of Montague; two daughters, Helen Miller, of Andover Township, and Sherril L. Rinaldo and husband, Gary, of Andover Township; five grandchildren, Bridget Monroig and husband, Frank, Jonathan Miller, Amanda Miller, John Schlaffer and Adam Schlaffer; two great-granddaughters, Gisele and Gianna; his sister, Carol Kinney and husband, Kenny, of LaBelle, Fla.; and his brother, William Miller and wife, Patricia, of Mahwah. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. A prayer service will follow at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Fort Denaud Cemetery in LaBelle, Fla.
