VERNON -- James Paul William Hoferichter, 20, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 14, 2010. Born to Paul William and Ann Marie Hoferichter in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he lived in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., before moving to the Scenic Lakes section of Vernon 15 years ago.

James was a former Vernon High School student and a parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church in Hamburg. He was an avid skateboarder and snowboarder.

He was predeased by his loving grandparents, Marion and James Loughlin, formerly of Fishkill, N.Y., and Paul Robert Hoferichter, formerly of Somers, N.Y.

James was the beloved son of Paul William and Ann Marie Hoferichter of Hamburg; dear brother of Kaila Rose and Paul Michael Hoferichter, also of Hamburg; loving grandson of Marilyn Hoferichter of Somers; loving nephew and godson of Gerald and Pat Miller of Bluffton, S.C., and Jeff and Nancy Loughlin of Fishkill; loving nephew of Karen and Thomas Hoferichter of Hopewell, N.Y., Debbie and Ronnie Zambrie of Poughkeepsie, Susan and Corey Travis of Somers and Michael and Carolyn Miller of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; and cousin of James and Connor Loughlin, Caitlin, TJ and Karlie Hoferichter, Jessica and Corey Travis and Mikayla and Colin Miller. He was a true friend to many people whose lives he touched.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church, Hamburg, at 10 a.m. Cremation will be private.
