WANTAGE -- James E. Raynor, 32, of the Beemerville section of Wantage Township, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at home, from diabetes complications.

Born Sept. 11, 1978, he was the beloved son of H. Edward and Sandra Beebe Raynor, of Andover, brother of Rebecca Raynor, of Lincoln Park, and uncle to Cody Fox. James was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Patricia and Allan Beebe; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Laura Raynor; his aunt, Laurel Decker; and uncle, Terry Beebe.

He was a 1997 graduate of Newton High School, enlisting in the U.S. Marines after high school. He served from August 1997 to October 2001 with USMC Delta Co. AAV, stationed at 29 Palms, Calif., as a Cpl. Amtrak Repairman doing a tour in Okinawa, Japan, until his medical discharge of diabetes. He attended State University New York-Cobleskill Campus for diesel and hydraulics.

A lifelong resident of Sussex County, James said when he was young he thought he would be stuck in Sussex County only to go out in the world and realize he wanted to be in Sussex County. He loved being 'one of the guys,' fishing and hunting. And we will all remember his red GMC pickup with the black fenders.

A memorial service will be held at Andover Methodist Church, Route 517, Andover, on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. A memorial viewing will be held prior to the service from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Lakeland Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 311, Andover, NJ 07821.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Online condolences can be made at
